mately 1 in. at a point midway between
the two sprockets. Adjust if needed (see
paragraph 3-27).

Slide Bar Shims
Measure clearance between slide bar
and feedshell channel. If clearance is
greater that 1/8 in., remove slide bar and
adjust shims until clearance is less than
1/8 in. (see paragraph 5-12). Repeat for
all four slide bars.

Centralizer
Close centralizer and measure inside d i-
ameter of bore. Replace centralizer
blocks when inside diameter is greater
than 2 in.

Drifter Drill
Check torque on side rod mounting
nuts. Gradually tighten to 150 lb-ft.

Boom Drill Carriage
Inspect feed chain for proper tension.
Adjust if necessary (see paragraph 4-23
or 5-13).

Inspect wear plates and shims for appar-
ent wear. Replace if needed.
